How to do analysis of Truss Using Method of Joints

In this tutorial, we are going to analyze the truss using method of joint.

RA = load/2 = 1000/2 = 500 N
RB = load/2 = 1000/2 = 500 N

For joint A,
∑Fv = 0
500 – FAC sin 300 = 0
500 = FAC sin 300

Which is equal to, 500/ sin 300 = FAC sin 300/ sin 300 = 1000 N

For example, ∑FX = 0
FAB + FAC cos300 = 0
FAB = - FAC cos300 = - (1000) cos300 = - 866 N
FAC = 1000 N
FBC = 1000 N
FAB = - 866 N
FBA = - 866 N
