In this construction article
briefly explain how to calculating brick and tables for estimating brick quantity.
c. Compute the area
of space for inserting brick – Make sure to deduct space for openings (windows,
doors, etc).
For getting more
information click on the following link vbhomerepair.com
a. Face area (in
inches2) = Length of the brick x Height of the brick
b. Number of bricks
you will require per square feet = 144 square inches/Height x Length of brick
d. Brick Quantity =
Area x number of bricks needed per square feet (Brick Multiplier)
e. Add 5 to 10 %
waste according to all-inclusive size of the job.
Mortar
Required for Standard Size Brick:
a. Choose the joint
thickness.
b. Choose the
thickness of the wall.
c. Find the
multiplier that matches step 1 and 2.
d. Divide the total
number of bricks you are using by 1000.
e. Take the
multiplier and multiply it with the number calculated in step 4.
f. That will offer
you CF of mortar required.
Illustration – CF of
mortar required to install 8000 bricks. Joint thickness is 1/8’’ and thickness
of the wall is 8’’.
a. Step 1 – 8000/1000
= 8
b. Step 2 – 8 x 5.6 =
44.8 CF of mortar
Discover
the Size of your Mortar Joint:
a. Locate the number
as per your brick size.
b. Multiply the
number by the area for which you will be installing the brick.
c. The outcome will
be the number of bricks you will need.
Illustration –
Compute the amount of brick to be installed on 5000 square feet. You are using
a jumbo brick with ¼’’ joint. The result will be 5000 x 1.16 = 5800 bricks.
