Different Types of beam

1 – Simply Supported Beam: Simply Supported Beam is a beam which is supported at extreme ends. This kind of beam is called simply supported beam.

2 – Fixed Beam: Fixed beam is a beam which is fixed at both ends. This kind of beam is called Fixed Beam.

3 – Cantilever Beam: Cantilever Beam is a beam which is fixed at one end and free on other end. So, this kind of beam is called Cantilever Beam.

4 – Continuous Beam: Continuous Beam is a beam which is more than two supports. This kind of beam is called Continuous Beam.

5 – Overhanging Beam: Overhanging Beam is a beam which is supported at two points, but on the last end it is hanging. So, this kind of beam is called Overhanging Beam.
