This
exclusive video tutorial is presented by L & T - Learning Technology. The
video tutorial will help you how to calculate number of bricks and quantity of cement
and sand in mortar.
We have
used modular brick having size 190 mm * 90 mm * 90 mm. We have chosen mortar
thickness = 10 mm.
Ratio
of cement and sand is 1:6 where 1 is cement and 6 is sand.
We
have considered volume as 1 cubic meter
Volume of 1 brick
with mortar = (190+10) * (90 +10) * (90+10) = 200 * 100 * 100 = 0.002 cubic
meter
Number of bricks in 1
cubic meter = 1/0.002 = 500 numbers
Volume of 1 brick
(without mortar) = 0.19 * 0.09 * 0.09 = 0.001539 cubic meter
Volume covered by 500
numbers of brick = 001539 * 500 = 0.769 cubic meter
Volume of mortar = 1
– 0.7695 = 0.2305 cubic meter in wet condition
Dry volume of mortar
= 0.2305 * 1.33 = 0.306565 cubic meter
Cement
= 0.306565 * 1/7 * 1440 = 63 kg = 1.26 bags
Sand
= 0.306565 * 6/7 * 35.3147 = 9.28 cubic feet.
